Jim, 53

"I like Loveland because of the activities and outings"

Originally from Ohio, Jimmy has been at Loveland since 2008. Jimmy lives in Nokomis with his family. At Loveland, Jimmy attends Computer Lab, Health & Safety, Contracts Class, and Fitness. He also participates in Special Olympics in Bowling, Bocce, and Volleyball.

"My Son had been at home for several years because the last school he went too just let him sit all day and it made him not want to go. He would stay awake at night because he didn't want to go. Our life was not good making him go so we kept him at home.

I had heard from people what a great school Loveland Center was. We talked to a Social Worker and she carried us down for a visit. I was very impressed with the program and the happiness I saw on the clients face.

We enrolled him and he started him over two years ago and I can't get him to stay home. He is kept busy and has a reason to get up in the morning.

My son has very little speech. They must communicate to him well because he can let me know the things that go on during the day.
