Loveland Center is a private non-profit corporation that provides individualized services for adults with developmental disabilities who reside in Sarasota and Charlotte counties.  Services are provided without regard to race, sex, creed, or national origin.  Loveland was established in 1962 by parents of children with disabilities.

We believe that all people, regardless of disability, will attain whatever goals they pursue when given the opportunity for self-expression.  Loveland currently serves over 100 individuals.  Every day over 50% of the student population spends time in the community at various locations.  All services focus on community involvement for the students.

The Loveland Mission

Loveland Center helps adults with developmental disabilities live their lives to the fullest. 
To carry out its mission, Loveland Center serves to:

develop and foster the acceptance and integration of all individuals
with developmental disabilities into the community at large;

develop and maintain a close liaison with members of the community to adapt
public facilities to accommodate individuals with disabilities” and,

serve as a clearinghouse of information to assist all individuals in understanding
the needs of people with developmental disabilities.

We recognize each student as an adult legal citizen, regardless of disability, with the inherent right to:

• be a part of community life
• have friendships and relationships with those of their own choosing
• have valued roles in the community
• have opportunities to make contributions to the community at large
• have a choice of lifestyle

Lovelanders, Inc. - A group of parents, guardians, and friends of Loveland students who help raise money to fund operations and activities for Loveland students.

Phase II - Helping our older students to "retire" with dignity and providing one-on-one care to other students with severe disabilities.

Residential Living - Our group home offers independence, supported living, and respite programs.
